Yes, you can check in earlier than 14:00 if the hotel has clean, available rooms. Check-out time is 12:00.
On Sai Kaew Beach, there are often fire shows, beach parties, and music. It’s not on the scale of major resort islands — more of a laid-back vibe.
During high season and weekends, you should definitely book in advance — good places get taken quickly.
There are shops and a 7-Eleven on the island, but prices are slightly higher. It’s better to bring what you need in advance, especially for the first hours, and restock on the island if necessary.
No, these activities are prohibited under national park regulations. All restrictions must be followed.
Local songthaews usually charge around 200 THB per person for rides around the island or to remote beaches (depending on direction and distance).
- Snorkeling / diving / island tours. Visit nearby reef islets, swim among corals, and stop in bays unreachable by land.
- Kayaking and trips to hidden coves. Reach quiet spots, coral areas, and neighboring beaches by kayak.
- Beach relaxation. Lie on the white sand, listen to the waves, read, unwind. Best beaches: Sai Kaew, Ao Prao, Ao Wai, and others.
- Trekking / viewpoints. Hike to viewpoints for island panoramas or to catch sunrise/sunset.
- Massage and spa. Recharge after the sea — many resorts offer Thai massage right on the beach.
- Nightlife / beach parties / fire shows. Evenings bring music, shows, and a relaxed vibe on Sai Kaew and along the coast.
- Photo walks and exploring bays. Discover quieter beaches and hidden rocky corners.
- Dinner by the sea — fresh seafood, oceanfront cafés, small souvenir markets.
- Exploring local life. Walk through the island village, visit temples, learn island legends (like the Mermaid of Samet).

Escape to Koh Samet with an overnight stay at the cozy Sea Breeze Hotel. White-sand beaches, clear waters, and the …

We went to Samet just to slow down and breathe for a couple of days, without any big expectations. Sea Breeze seemed like a solid option — simply a place to sleep and keep our things. Quiet, close to the sea, and reasonably priced — that’s what mattered most when choosing the hotel. During the day we swam and relaxed on the beach, and in the evening we went to eat seafood by the sea. The sunset was so nice that at some point we didn’t even feel like taking photos anymore. In the morning we swam once more and packed up calmly, without any rush. Check-out was at 12:00, no one hurried us. In the end, it turned out exactly how we wanted — a peaceful, no-stress getaway without unnecessary hustle.
