The trip turned out to be deep and immersive - definitely not the kind where you just look around and rush on. Isan was a real surprise: you feel a completely different Thailand, older and more authentic. The temples make a strong impression, especially when you realize how ancient they are and where they’re located. What we really appreciated was the comfortable pace - no rush, no stress, with enough time to explore everything properly. The guide truly saved the long drives with engaging stories and humor, so the road never felt tiring. The overnight stay and meals were great too - everything was well organized, without any unpleasant surprises. We came back tired, but with the feeling that we had truly touched the country’s history, not just gone on another tour.
