Practical tips, local insights, and useful details for travelers

Best nearby beaches

The best beaches are on Ko Larn Island, 15–25 minutes by boat. Ferries and speedboats depart daily from the city. Clear water and good conditions.

How to choose excursions?

Pattaya offers a wide variety of excursions: sea, jungle, temples, markets, shows, safaris, extreme activities. It’s better to book in advance to choose a convenient time and avoid overpaying on site.

When to go?

November–March is the most comfortable season. Summer is warmer, but the sea remains calm, and excursions take place without restrictions. Prices are slightly lower in the low season.

Where to swim in the city

Central beaches are suitable for walks but not ideal for swimming. For beautiful sea, people go to Ko Larn or neighboring provinces.

Food and fruits

Pattaya offers a huge variety: street food, markets, cafes, and restaurants. Prices are lower than on the islands. Fruits are sold year-round.

Excursions for children

Suitable options include safari parks, animal farms, aquariums, themed shows, and calm sea tours. Most programs are family-friendly. In the price list above, you will find the corresponding section.

Safety tips for travelers

The city is tourist-friendly and calm. Watch the road and pedestrian crossings. Follow instructions on excursions - and there will be no problems.

Where to get a massage

Massage salons are everywhere. Classic Thai, oil, and foot massages are the most popular.

Getting around the city

Songthaews - pickup trucks with benches (often mistakenly called tuk-tuks). The most convenient way to get around. Fares are fixed per route: 10–20 THB. For taxis, we recommend the Grab or Bolt apps.

Pattaya Information

Pattaya - essential travel information

Pattaya - one of Thailand's most convenient and dynamic resorts, popular for affordable vacations, well-developed infrastructure, and a huge variety of excursions. The city is perfect for those who want to move around easily, quickly change plans, and combine the sea, entertainment, gastronomy, sightseeing, and island trips.

Pattaya is conveniently located: just a couple of hours from Bangkok, near the major U-Tapao airport, with convenient transport throughout the region. Here you will find everything: beaches, shopping malls, night markets, temples, viewpoints, theme parks, safari, aquarium, islands with clear waters, boat trips, fishing, shows, sports, wellness centers, and cuisine for every taste and budget.

The city is year-round - dozens of excursions and activities are available every month. Beaches are maintained, infrastructure is developing, and transport routes are expanding. This is a place where you can customize your vacation: a peaceful family holiday, an active tour, a gastronomic trip, shopping, or beach days with trips to Ko Lan.

Pattaya is beginner-friendly: easy to navigate, simple to move around, plenty of information in English and Russian, transparent prices, and accessible services. The city is lively and modern, yet with its own calm Asian rhythm - ideal for those seeking a warm and stress-free vacation.

Sabai Travel has gathered the best excursions in the city: sea tours, signature routes, private trips, transfers, tickets, and services. We make vacations convenient and clear, so guests get maximum impressions without unnecessary fuss. Pattaya is the choice for travelers who value dynamics, accessibility, and opportunities.

You can travel from Bangkok to Pattaya almost at any time of day. Buses depart from the Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekkamai), Northern Bus Terminal (Mo Chit), and Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai). Travel time is about 2 hours, buses are comfortable and air-conditioned.

Minivans depart from BTS stations and major transport hubs, they are slightly faster, but luggage may be limited.

From Suvarnabhumi Airport, there is a direct Bell Travel Service bus: comfortable cabin, luggage included, and drop-off at hotels.

From Don Mueang, there are no direct buses - you first need to get to the city and then transfer. The most reliable option is a pre-booked transfer or taxi: fixed price, comfort, no hassle.

Sabai Travel provides transfer services from the airport to Pattaya, Bangkok, and other cities.

Ko Larn operates 365 days a year. The sea is usually calm, and even during the rainy season there are often sunny days. Morning departures are more predictable in terms of weather and waves. In high season (November–March), there are more people, but the water is clearer and visibility is better for snorkeling. In low season, the trip is comfortable thanks to fewer tourists and softer sun.

Pattaya is a city that comes alive after sunset. The Beach Road promenade is perfect for walks. Terminal 21 is a modern shopping mall with themed zones and food courts. Night markets offer food, fruits, and clothes. Evening shows and viewpoints create a great atmosphere and photo opportunities. There are plenty of entertainment options for everyone.

Pattaya is one of the most affordable resorts in Thailand. Street food costs 40–80 THB, cafes 120–250 THB. Songthaews have fixed route fares, taxis are cheaper than in southern resorts. Excursions are reasonably priced thanks to nearby locations. The neighborhood level has little impact - differences are mostly in the style of establishments.

The internet is excellent. 4G and 5G work even on the islands. SIM cards are sold at 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, and official stores. AIS - best coverage, DTAC - good packages, True - strong urban internet. Package costs are low, and activation takes only five minutes. Passport required.

Classic essentials: sunscreen, water, light clothing, swimsuit, towel. For sea excursions - aqua shoes, spare T-shirt, phone case, some cash. For temples - clothing covering shoulders and knees. For active programs - comfortable shoes and insect repellent.

Within Pattaya, beaches are suitable for walks but not for full beach vacations: the city, dense buildings, boats, and less clear water. For beautiful sea views, locals and tourists go to the Military Beach and Ko Larn Island - 15 minutes by speedboat or 35–40 minutes by ferry.

Tien Beach (Ko Larn) - wide, calm, clear water. Samae - more 'picture-perfect', with gentle waves and spacious shore. Tawaen - the most popular, with many cafes and infrastructure. Ko Larn - the best choice if you want Phuket-level sea without long flights.

The city center is convenient if you want to be in the midst of action: cafes, shopping malls, transport. Jomtien - calmer: long promenade, cleaner atmosphere, many family hotels. Naklua - quiet area with good restaurants and green spaces. For excursions, it doesn’t matter - we pick up for tours from all locations in the city.

Rent only from verified shops with contracts and proper bikes. Before taking the bike, take photos and videos of every part: plastic, mirrors, scratches, wheels. This protects you from disputes. Helmets are mandatory: the police fine, and roads in Thailand require attention. Ride calmly and keep distance - the main rule in Pattaya. International driving license is required.

Street agencies usually charge higher prices and may change the program. Online booking through Sabai Travel provides a fixed cost, clear schedule, guaranteed spots, and support. Programs are carefully checked, and transfers arrive on time. The difference in experience is huge.

The weather in Pattaya is mild and predictable. Rain showers are usually short and pass quickly. Excursions are not canceled without real need: even in the rainy season, the sea often remains calm. Sea tours are canceled only in case of strong winds or storm warnings. Rain is short but heavy - 30–60 minutes, and everything dries quickly afterward.

Yes, shows, parks, animal farms, safaris, and calm sea trips - the choice is huge. Everything is nearby: no long transfers, kids don’t get tired. Many cafes with European cuisine, shops, and pharmacies. For families, Pattaya is one of the most convenient cities in Thailand.

Pattaya is the most excursion-friendly city in Thailand: a huge choice and everything nearby. Ko Larn and Ko Sak, Ko Pai, Ko Samet, Ko Kood, Ko Chang, Ko Sichang - the main sea destinations. Nong Nooch Garden - a benchmark tropical flora park with shows and elephants (no cruel practices). The Big Buddha Temple and the viewpoint open panoramic views of the whole city.

Safari parks, Tiger Park, elephant and crocodile farms are suitable for families. Our signature excursions allow you to see non-tourist places: villages, jungles, viewpoints, temples, and much more. Evening shows are one of the city's symbols and run daily.

Clothing should cover shoulders and knees. Shoes are removed at the entrance. Do not touch Buddha statues or take photos in inappropriate poses. Speak quietly inside. Proper behavior always earns respect.
